Dearest Alya has turned 2 months old today.. Love u love u baby!
She is growing by day and i can't stop capturing her pictures either using my hp or digicam. hah.
In fact my phone is very much full with her pictures. Both hubby n me forgo our wedding pic as our wallpaper and it's now alya's cutey face which filled it. Anyways, she is sleeping lesser in the day and more at night now.. which also means, she wakes up lesser at night for milk.. yay!
Nxt tuesday we'll be bringing her to Dr Masayu's clinic to do ear-piercing. Then i hope people will stop asking if it's a girl/boy. haha.. N oh, we are in the midst of preparation for alya's cukur rambut on 11th April. Hopefully all goes well, insyaAllah.
Let's take a look at the changes which took place.. from newborn till now.. =)

On Saturday, hubby came home early.. n off we went to my parent's crib.. took the bus instead of walking there cos the sky was dark and we didnt want to get caught in the rain.. so here's alya enjoying her bus ride.. hehe.

By the way..my elder sis bought for us a baby carrier.. I wanted the Chicco brand but it was only available in pink color. I wanted a dark colored carrier, so the sales person recommended Infantino instead. As the price is the same, we agreed.. n here it is (below).. didnt get the chance to take a pic of alya in it.. cos anyway, she slept thruout while i carried her in it at causeway point.. Once again, thanks kak!
*i wonder why such carriers are so expensive..*
Backtrack abit.. on Friday was hubby's off day. Thought hubby wanted to bring us out, but since he was tired and wanted to stay at home, i finally did wat i'd been contemplating to do for so long.. I've never done anything drastic like this ever before.. to my hair. I was deciding between rebonding or perming. Heh. Thou i know it wont make much difference to others, bcos of the tudung.. but it was something for myself, and of cos..the hubby la.. And so i finally decided to perm while hubby babysits alya for the whole duration. The result (pardon me if it's not clear):

Hey nozie! i'm curly hair too now.. haha! =P

Ok, i'm off to bed to catch some sleep now. Nitez!

There's no other place than home. Agree?

Yes and this is also part of the reason y i've not been blogging for the past few days. I now know how it is to be a full-time housewife. Haha.. n when the hubby's off to work, being alone with the babe is very much challenging. Hats off to my mum who had 5 to look after all by herself. Sheesh... and i find it challenging with only one. heh. Anyways, at first i hardly had time for myself..yes, even to eat. I ended up with no breakfast and lunch was at 3.30pm. Hah. The next day was slightly better. Still no breakfast but lunch was at 2pm.

After a few days i'd established a routine for myself. When the babe is still sleeping in the morning, i'd quickly take a shower n have a quick bite. Then it's feeding time and she'll sleep again. Then it's time for me to hand-wash the babe's clothes, mittens, hankies, etc etc. Following that will be our own laundry. So by 10 or 11, it's babe's bathing time. Then feed again. Then she'll sleep again. Afterwhich i'll quickly prepare lunch. Eat and then finally some rest time while she still sleeps. Usually btwn 3-5 she'll be awake and i constantly need to entertain her or even talk to her. Sometimes she'll nap in between but not for long. Then feed again.. usually at 6+ instead of bathing, i'll wipe her. Usually after that hubby comes home and he'll entertain her while i have dinner. Then she'll sleep and wake up every 3 or 3.5 hours for milk. Yes, even at night -still. So this is how busy i am these days. I try to get as much sleep as possible -though i always fail to. But i will find time to de-stress in anyway i could. Am seriously looking forward to the bintan trip next month. Heh.

Anyways, last Saturday was Darwisyah Rihanna's cukur rambut -Huda's daughter. And since nozie was not able to attend, i went with the childhood buddies instead.
Later that evening, hubby, me n alya went to causeway point to meet with zaidi, mila n zul. Bought a cake cos it was FIL's birthday.. It was suppose to be a suprise gathering at mami leha's house. End up we all went to Rasa Rasa Thai Seafood restaurant at woodlands road for a sumptuous dinner. There were about 16 of us.. luckily another big group was about to leave when we reached there. No photos cos zaidi was the cameraman. heh..

Sunday morning hubby suggested to go chong pang for breakfast, but it was lunchtime by then. Weather was sooo hot at noon and the babe was cranky. So the nearest air-con eating place is McDonald. Then we went to hubby's fave fish shop and bought fishes to fill his empty tank. So to date, we have a pair of love birds, 4 hermit crabs and a tank of fishes. I said N-O when he wanted to buy a hamster. I so dont like! sheeesh. Then later in the evening we went to my mum's place.. it was alya's first time going there.. we did nothing much.. just sat around and chit chat After dinner dad sent us home.

This week nothing much happened. Oh, but we did visit kakak moi who had an op to remove a 'blister-like lump' on her back. What happened was she took epidural when giving birth to her 1st son 4yrs back. After some time a small lump developed. As it was not painful, not bleeding and has no pus, she thought it was nothing. Only recently her back was aching and her hubby noticed there were pus in the lump, she went to a clinic and was referred to TTSH immediately. She had to get it remove as soon as possible as doc was afraid it may turn cancerous. Doc later said it was at that spot where the epidural was administered and the cause could be because the needle wasnt thoroughly clean. After the op she was given a week of MC and needs to go to polyclinic everyday for a week to change the dressing. She is now recovering.. Get well soon kak!

Anyway there's a reunion dinner later..and i can't wait! It seems that some of my pri sch frens got in touch recently with some other ex-schmates. And since one of them will be going to australia next week for 2years, he thought of a gathering for all. And so far i tink there'll be about 12 of us or so. Geee... we graduated in 1998 and some of us has not seen each other since then. Haha.. i'm sure it would be fun! will update again soon! Time to go.. babe's up and she's hungry. Till then. Take care all!

Just a quick n short update.
-Yeah! n i'm finally thru the confinement. Alhamdulillah.. =)
-I've started packing already.. cos we are going back to our home sweeeet home on friday. I soooo cant wait!
-The FIL kinda gets on my nerves cos he seems to be holding us back n telling us not to move back yet. Sigh... i'm sorry.. but we have been here for sooo long. I'm sorry dat u gonna miss Alya, but when i start work, u'll get to see her Mon-Fri ok.. cos we've agreed to let her stay at your place on weekdays and we'll fetch her back only on friday nite.. and please.. dun make tiz even more difficult for us.. as it is, it's not easy for me (as the mother) to not see her dat long.. but i know, i cant quit working... so yeah, we dun have much choice anyway until we have other arrangements - which might not be to your liking.
Sigh... i just dont know.. it's hard to please people.. especially the elders.. i know that i am a 1st time mother.. n by the way, which 1st time mothers out there isnt awkward having to look after a baby? i will get used to it sooner or later, right? but my in-experience is not a reason, or rather an excuse for me not to learn. I am more than willing to do anything n everyting to learn n be a good mother. Sorry if tiz sounds like i'm complaining.. and i still appreciate whatever my in-laws have done for me.. I guess, i better stop babbling for now.. till then.. some photo updates.. =)
The mother n daughter.. =)
After her bath... cheeky Alya..
Smiling smiling in her sleep...
Tiz was after we shaved her hair..
My HP wallpaper for now.. the adorable Princess Alya.. haha...
I'm out!

Looking at the clock, it shows 1.45am now. As per normal i'm on night shift.. while hubby sleeps. Alya's currently sleeping too, since just now -but after an hour of 'meragam'. During her earlier feed i thought she was super hungry already..cos she was even crying when hubby carried and pacified her while i was making her milk. I could even hear her cry from the kitchen thou the bedroom door was closed. I quickly made her milk and when i carried her to feed, she got me a lil frustrated cos she stopped crying and slept. Even when i called her name and moved her, she ignored me. And this is why i got abit frustrated. Then after 10mins or so, she woke up crying and i straight away fed her. But after only drinking half bottle, she stopped sucking and went back to sleep. Burped her and put her back on the bed. After awhile she woke and wanted milk again. Warmed her earlier milk and fed her, but drank only a little and like u've guessed..she went back to sleep. Haiz...so she wasnt super hungry afterall. Waiting for another round of feeding later on..

Anyway, confinement period is ending in 2days time! yay! well..it's not so bad for the last 10days cos i've been allowed to eat normal food. No more 'special' food which has lots of garlic (menu was either ikan kurau or ayam kampung). No more 'ginger juice' (this was made twice by MIL's friend whom she regards as her godmother. it uses 1kg of ginger and whatnots. i tell u, it almost burned my throat the 1st time i drank it). No ubat periuk which tasted a billion times bitter than coffee (as it is i dont drink coffee!). No more bengkung and pilis (like finally...). So life has been pretty good and almost back to normal. Alhamdulillah.

Last week, MIL, FIL, hubby n me went to Geylang. On the way there, we passed by 2 accidents. One was at PIE which involved a taxi and a motorcycle. I tink it was a fatal one cos the motorist was covered by something that looked like a tent which is black in color and has the word 'Police'. Just like the ones they show in TV, where they used it to cover someone who is dead at the scene. May God bless the soul of the person whoever he/she is. The 2nd one was at Geylang, near the Tanjong Katong Complex carpark. This involved 2 taxis which clashed. I hope no serious injuries were caused. Subhanallah.. Anyway, i bought a modern kurung at Blaus which cost me almost 130 bucks. After so long, i finally bought something for myself.. haha! The baju will be worn during Alya's cukur rambut next month and also for hari raya. =)

We are officially going back to our own home on Mar13th. The father-in-law (FIL) has been jokingly telling Alya to stay here and not to go back. I can sense and i know, he is the one who'll pamper Alya the most. Thou i'm abit concerned about this, i guess there isnt much i can do anyway. MIL will also follow suit and i'm starting to feel insecure. Not that i have anything against them (i do appreciate and am very grateful to them) but... hmmm.. i do not wish to say it. But i hope it will not turn out like that. Maybe i'm imagining too much. Haaa..

Baby's up now. GTG...before she starts her 'siren'!

1. Congrats to sis Nadiah for passing her A-levels. Results were out today. Wish her all the best in whatever she chooses to pursue after this.

2. I must admit that this is like the 1st time i followed every single episode of American Idol. And it's already the 8th season. I have been watching since the auditions till now -the final 13. I guess the reason why i have the time to watch every single week w/o fail is bcos i'm on leave. Haha! Cos usually the show's @ 10pm and when i'm working, i should be in bed by that time already. Anyway, today's episode ended with a sweet surprise.. the judges were supposed to pick only 3 from the wildcard today to go into the finals.. but they decided last minute that they chose another one. So instead of final 12, it became final 13! Not surprised that Tatiana a.k.a drama queen didnt make it to the finals.. hehe.. next time maybe? n oh, pls.. no more drama ok!

3. Few days ago i suddenly remembered about the cash gift which was part of the Baby Bonus scheme. I'd sbmitted all documents n the complete forms at thomson medical ctr on 4thFeb when i was there for the post-natal checkup. It was indicated that the 1st payment would be within 3weeks upon MCYS receiving all the required things for submission. And it was a month already. I did ask around and most of them said it is within that 3wks period. So i started to worry and called MCYS on tuesday. I enquired and the officer said they have received everyting and it's still in process. She said normally it takes within 3 to 4 weeks. I didnt want to be nasty to tell her that it's indicated 3wks, even in their website. And it has been a month! I mean, if it was overlooked or there were some glitches, just own up and apologise. No need to 'cover-up' by saying it may take 4wks! Anyway, i wasnt very petty about it so i just said ok when she told me abt it. Being in customer svc, i knw what it felt dealing with a difficult person.. so i just let it go w/o questioning her further. The next day, i checked and the payment is in already. Case closed.

4. I am thinking of going on a short getaway just before i resume work on 27Apr. I feel it is a necessity as hubby and i didnt go for a holiday together last year, mostly bcos i was pregnant and despite people saying it's safe to travel, i didnt want to take any chances due to the miscarriage i had before. And so after giving birth, i ought to be rewarded, shouldnt i? =)
Actually hubby was not very into the idea cos this means we have to leave Alya at his mum's place for the whole duration. I was deciding either Genting/Sibu Island/Bintan but the 1st thing hubby asked was which is the nearest. Thus, of cos.. it must be Bintan. When i told him it's only 50mins away from S'pore he then agreed. Thinking twice, i'm glad he didnt choose Genting cos i didnt want to travel much this time.. What i need is 24hrs a day of pure calmness and relaxation. Planning on weekdays, so lesser crowd.. haha! No shopping spree for me cos i know there's nothing to shop anyway. I'd been to Nirwana Resort.. so maybe trying a different place.. Maybe we'll go for 3D2N @ Bintan Lagoon. Cant wait!
*imagine lazing in the pool.. walking by the beach.. indulging in spa.. candlelight dinner too, perhaps?*

Till the next entry... =)

Alya has turned one-month old today. Ah.. which means tomorrow we'll be bringing her to get her 1-mth old jab. It's the 2nd dose of Hep B jab. (sigh)
Both hubby n me pitied her. Well, how not to? So the kesian one... But it's for her own good.. I hope she will be brave like the umi (and not scared like the abi) to see the needle and being injected. Heee.

After that we'll bring her back to MIL's place for her to babysit while both of us make a trip to our home. We need to vacuum, mop and do watnots cos it's been more than a month since we stayed there. And i need to wash the curtains too. All these in preparation for us to move back on Mar 13th. =)

Counting down to the end of confinement in 10 days time. Cant wait to say goodbye to being bengkung-ed, daily pilis, yucky herbal drinks/jamu. Yippeee!
~It's not over yet but MIL's been talking abt us planning for a 2nd one by nxt year. hmm.. let me think 1st okie?
